Should We Allow In Refugees?

All over the media, and all over social media, I see people saying that we shouldn't let refugees in.

It really blows my mind that I see so many of the same people who scream Pro Life (for christianity, because every life matters, because there are programs and adoptions and other options, etc.) also screaming for us to close our borders to the refugees who need our help. Where is your same Christian, protecting of life, warrior for those who have no voice, values that you preach every day?

Lets talk about the fact that there is NO Muslim voice in modern media, preaching what it really means to be Muslim and follow their peaceful and beautiful faith. Where are you? Because it's not standing up for those voiceless brothers and sisters.

What about the same children you promise would have a life, you promise that they are wanted and that someone out there will offer them love and offer kindness, and shelter and food when they are in need, because they are living and a life deserves all of the above... Where are you when those same children, that those brave mothers and fathers chose to bring in to this world, that you swore to protect, come knocking at your door?

Are you really Pro Life? Do you really make an effort and support efforts, after a child is brought into this world, to keep every single child and adult safe, and offer them the kindness and love that you fight for each unborn child to experience? If you are truly Pro Life, then start promoting the safety and wellbeing of those living, and of the LIFE the people of this world deserve.

I understand we will not be as safe. It will be putting our sweet and beloved Americans in danger from other harmful people. But I think we forget sometimes that we are people first, and Americans second. Yes, our duty as Americans is to do everything we can to keep our people safe, but our duty as humans is to do everything we can to keep other humans safe from danger, and there are people who really really need our help right now.

It really blows my mind that I see so many people of all different races saying we should keep the refugees out. Unless you come from a direct lineage of people that we now call "Native American," your family was once filled with immigrants too. At some point, your family, for whatever reason, decided that America was a better place for you. For the very few people who's family came here for fun, because they wanted to, and did so legally, and now follow every single rule and law, that is so great for you. However, the majority of the families who are in America come from someone who was brave enough to cross an ocean, to overcome the lack of of rights, freedom of religion, work, pay, safety, shelter, food, etc. Most people who came here didn't walk leisurely, most ran for their lives, holding on to the last shred of hope they had.

Yes, I've heard the statement, "se don't lock our doors because we hate the people outside, but because we love the people inside." Well... You're right; it is safer for you to live in a bubble, and never touch anyone, and never be in danger for your whole life then it is for you to skydive or to trust 10,000 muslims to come into your state. However, you should not reject an entire population of people because you want to feel comfortable leaving your home.

You do not need to accept the refugees in to your home to endanger your children, but you should at least be willing to support the decision to allow them in your country with a separate place to stay. If you want to feel safe, isolate yourself, do not isolate a whole group of people and offer men, women, and children up to violence, disease, starvation, and hopelessness just because you want to travel to the mall feeling care-free next Sunday.
